Our trip to Vegas started with a
spectacular performance by the master illusionist David Copperfield. In the
Copperfield theatre in MGM Las Vegas, we reveled in the comfortable theatre
chairs with a glass of wine, awaiting the start of the show.
Then for the next 2 hours we were blown
away by magic; true magic. His presentation, showmanship, and story- telling mesmerized
us to the magical world that asks the question whether it truly is an illusion
or real magic. Children in the theatre gleamed and everyone was hypnotized by
the tricks, the charm of possibly the best magician in the world, today. The
tricks varied from big scale set pieces to simple trickery using only a
handkerchief.
David Copperfield went around the audience,
told stories, shared pasts, picked random audience members and took us through
a journey through the veil of illusion. Finishing with a grand act that took up
the entire stage and seemed to appear out of nothing, a feature we were getting
quite used to by that time of the night, Copperfield finished with a bang and
left us wanting for more.
